PATCH NOTES BETA 2

Thank you for all your feedback and bug reports from the first Beta. There were hundreds of great suggestions. We haven’t addressed everything just yet, but this is just the start. Read on for full details of the changes, but here is the high level changes.

Summary:

  • Increased party size to 6

  • Improved the respawn mechanics

  • Lots of tweaks to the car behavior

  • Lots of tweaks to the missile behaviour, including more shield time and specific dodge mechanics

  • Tightened the gameplay loop so there should be less waiting for other players

  • Improved the menu and UI

  • Increased the win counter up to 1000

Gameplay Mechanics

  • Improved the respawn mechanic. It now respawns you to the place the car last hit the ball, or the point closest to where the ball went out of bounds.

  • Missile changes:

    • When being hit by a missile, you will now get a 10 second shield

    • Performing an aerial rotation will grant the player temporary immunity to missiles

    • Changed the targeting behavior

    • Added a slight delay to firing of missiles, to give players up close more time to respond

    • When targeting a player with a missile, their name will show.

  • Car behavior:

    • Fixed the 'momentum' bug 

    • Improved behaviour of car when not landing wheels first

    • Increased speed of gliding and boosting slightly

    • Slightly decreased air rotation speed

    • Improved the outcome of dash and front flip simultaneous action

    • Dash is now canceled when hitting the terrain

    • Changes to car steering, resulting in less lost speed when turning

  • Fans and tunnels:

    • Improved ball attraction to fans, avoiding ball flying out.

    • Car is now not sucked into the entrance of tunnels. Only the ball.

  • Improved the consistency of the ball assist provided by the barrier edge bar

  • Improved ball hit mechanic when in bunkers or rough. Should be slightly easier to get out.

 Unlocks and level ups

  • We have added community designed assets to the game

    • Galaxy ball

    • Tesla spoiler

    • TGR wheels

  • Added avatars to the shop

  • Changed some of the unlocks between level 1 and 15

  • Increased average cost of items

  • Added descriptions to Power Cores when viewed in the Shop or Rewards screen

  • Added rarity to items when displayed in the garage

  • Upped the max party size from 4 to 6

  • Player will now display a badge on their avatar which represents their number of wins

  • Increased the maximum win count up to 1000 wins

  • Added Curve Ball Core

  • Added Bunker Core

UI updates

  • Visual changes to the homescreen

  • Updated cores screen

  • Added new levels

    • Twisted Gardens

    • Terminal 19

    • Hyper Flight Corner

    • Uphill Battle

    • Factory Showdown

  • Removed 8 levels from the build from beta 1

Gameplay visuals

  • The barrier now responds visually when the ball collides with it

  • Ball ground projector now expands outwards as it gets higher

  • Changed the 'ball arrow' visuals

  • Fireworks on the 3,2,1 countdown timer!

  • Improved camera on irregular terrain and when upside down.

Gameplay loop

  • Shot of the match balancing changes.

    • it now favours shots where you score or hit a boost ring

    • Added a minimum threshold to prevent it showing every game

  • Added a 'majority vote' on the skip flyover button

  • Timer now reduces each time a player scores, in order to reduce the time spent watching other in spectator

  • Changed scoreboard functionality. When there are players who are even on points, it now skips a position to the next player. e.g. 1st, 1st, 3rd.

  • Players can now use emojis functionality during flyovers

Quality of life improvements

  • Added additional keybind functionality.

    • players can bind different inputs to the Left Stick, such as accelerate and brake

    • Players can rebind the trigger buttons

  • Added more grass fidelity options, and improved the look of the grass when it's turned off

  • Added windowed and full screen mode

  • Added the option to lock the cursor to the window

  • Added more information on server location, ping and connection issues

  • Fixed lobby cursor rotation bug.
